As markets and consumers demand greater transparency and accountability from producers, it is evident that long-standing reputations will need to be proven through verifiable credentials.
That’s where AgTrace Australia comes in. Designed with industry input, AgTrace assists producers to meet the emerging market requirements in a cost-effective, timely, and scalable manner.
Get prepared for the future with AgTrace Australia, and the Australian Agriculture Traceability Protocol (AATP).
Principles of AgTrace
Transparency & Traceability
At the heart of AgTrace is the commitment to an adaptable and re-usable mechanism helping farmers to prove their sustainability claims. This is enshrined in the Australian Agriculture Traceability Protocol (AATP) which is based on the open-source, internationally recognised framework of the UN Transparency Protocol (UNTP).
Verifiable Credentials
The digital equivalent of physical documents, a verifiable credential backs up a producer’s claim or statement about their product. AgTrace recognises that any claims made by producers must be done with reference to a framework that’s underpinned by specified indicators or assessment protocols. These protocols will be quantified via application of key ‘metrics that matter’.
Digital Product Passport
Designed to collect and share data about a product across the entire value chain, a Digital Product Passport (DPP) gives stakeholders a deeper understanding of the materials used in products and their environmental impacts. Data, in the form of a verified credential, is shared with the express permission of the creator and only viewed by authorised people. The AATP serves to govern how data can be attached to a DPP.
The Australian Agriculture Traceability Protocol
The AATP is a scalable, transparent, and permission-based mechanism helping Australian producers meet emerging ESG requirements in both domestic and export markets. Watch this short video to find out how it works.
